Hi All,
Does anyone know if Cisco support the following configuration:
Windows 2008 - Standard Edition running in VMWare with Cisco Unified Business Attendant Console loaded.
Surely, just as long as the Server was built with the minimum supportted 2GB RAM and 80Gb HD it would run fine?
Cheers.

Hi Darren,
According to Cisco documentation found at:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucmac/arc/cubdacag8005.pdf
Page 3-7
Cisco Unified Attendant Server is not supported in a live environment on VMWare, HyperV or any other virtual based operating system.
This is for version 8.0.0.5 as of March 2010.
However, according to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucmac/arc/cueacrn8039.pdf, page 6, table 12 for version 8.0.3.9 as of 7th of October 2010, VMWare (ESXi-4) is a supported platform.
Also on page 9, it states that only VMware EXSi version 4 is supported but not HyperV or any other virtual base OS. Also Cisco TSP is only supported on Windows 2008 and not 2003.
Therefore, if you are planning to deploy 8.0.0.5 the answer is no. If you are deploying 8.0.3.9 or later, the answer is yes but only on VMware ESXi-4 with base OS of Windows Server 2008.
Hope this information helps.
Cheers,
Farbod

I have deployed it on VMware before. Clients with a VMware environment definitely do not like it when told that to use the Unified Attendant Console they need to purchase a dedicated server. It's just a Windows program that doesn't check the platform like CUCM does when installed. Of course, this scenerio is unsupported by TAC. I'm happy to see that it will be supported going forward.
