Call Distribution Query (Call Manager)

Hi All,

One of our branch offices wishes to setup a simple call distribution feature.

In short, a incoming call rings on a main number that is a shared line (associated with an users 7970). If the call isn't answered within 8 seconds, they want to call to broadcast to 6 individual lines simultaneously.

Would I have to setup a 'Hunt Pilot', 'Hunt List' and 'Hunt Group' for this to work? And also set the 'Hunt Pilot' number to the 'forward settings' of the person taking the initial call to the main number?

Hope that makes sense.

Any help would be appreciated.

CUCM Version: 7.1(3)

End points: 7970

Thanks

Regards,

Jamie

Hi Jamie

There's lots of ways to do this.

Plan A:

Set up two line groups - one with just the 7970 user in it. The other with the 6 other users in it. Set them both to 'broadcast' hunting, and set the timeout to 8 seconds on the first line group.

Set up a hunt list, containing the first line group then the other.

Set up a hunt pilot for the main number, pointed at tthe hunt list

It will then hunt the first group (one phone, but you could add others later if you wanted) then go to the second group of extensions.

Other variations on this could be (for example) that you have a single line group, and send the main number calls to the 7970 user. This would then forward on no answer to the hunt group which would need a different number.
