Hi, Does anyone knows is it possible to record call (conversation) witch was originated from external source (PSTN) to CUCM 5.1 and than forwarded (because of no answer) to the external destination (back to the PSTN or mobile service provider)? How does this Forward work? Could anyone explain?

Hello,
To record a call , you need a third party recording system to record the call and yes , it is possible,
For the call forward , yes you can but there is parameter in the call manager you have to enable it , it's external to external transfer , you just have to go to the DN and choose the forward on no answer the destination and assign CSS.

Hello,
I forgot to tel you abou the transfer parameter.
Go to service parameter -> choose the PUB -> and choose call manager service , there is a feild called Block offnet to offnet transfer , make sure it is false ,then go to the DN and do what i told you before.

Thank you for attention very much Amer, Yes, external to external forwarding function is working in my CUCM and I know that I need third party software but how can I record conversation witch was forwarded external to external? is it possible?

Hello,
No , you can't record external to external because :
1- in case you are using SPAN for recording , the SPAN takes the RTP physically from the interface and send it to the interface that the recording server SPAN port is connected to , in this case there is no RTP on the switches (because there is no IP Phone).
2- in the second case which is SIP recording , the SIP recording server talks to the call manager through a SIP trunk , to tell the recording the server the ip address of the destination IP phone so it can record , in all of your cases there is no destination .
In the first case it is not possible but i am not sure about the second case , maybe the recording server can talk to the gateway to give the stream to the recrding server since both calls are terminated on the gateway , i am not really sure , it's better to talk to the company from which you are going to take the recording solution and check the availablity for this but i am 99% that it can't be done but as i told , maybe the recording server can.

Is it possible to setup all this devices that way that the incoming PSTN call will use MTP on CCM so you can record that stream while it is leaving CCM? ...or route incoming calls to another gateway but using VOIP dial-peer and then to ccm so you can sniff RTP on the link between gateways?
