call forwarding options

I have several users who want to forward their phones to other numbers if they can't/don't answer (easy), but then, if the call isn't answered at the remote destination, have the call fall back to their voicemail (the issue). Is this possible? I am using ccm and unity, both at version 8.5. Even though it is possible to have voicemail and destination filled in for the DNs, apparently voicemail overrides the destination and the call is only forwarded to the voicemail.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

Do you have the forward to VM checked for CFB and CFNA as well as a destination pattern/dn? If so make sure you uncheck the VM check box and test again. Once the remote destination doesn't answer and is that DN is configured to CFW to VM, then the call will be routed to the original called party number voice mailbox, this is the default behaviour for Unity.

Regards
Allan.

Hi  points vhinckley,

No, the feature you're asking doesn't exist until now, if you forward the call there's no way to retieve the call to a voicemail. Remember, if the remote destination doesn't answer the call will go to the RD's voicemail so threre's no way to do it.

The Voicemail check option forward the call to Voicemail, if the option is uncheck then will forward the call to the DN, just one option is possible not both.

Regards

It depends on where that other number is, if we're strictly talking about sending the call to another CUCM DN, of course, you can do that, and the default behavior as noted, is to use the original called number to reach a VM box.

Assuming this is an off-net call, as Leo says, no way to do so, you might want to use SNR instead so this is possible.
