Call survivability with MGCP Gateway

We have call Manager 7.1.3, MGCP gateway on Cisco 2811 running IOS Version 12.4(25b), with SRST configured

My question:   If a user at the remote site is on an external call to the PSTN and the gateway looses its connection to Call Manager the gateway and phones go into SRST fallback.  Will this call be dropped?

Calls are preserved when using analog or CAS circuits. Call are dropped when using ISDN protocol, because L3 of the ISDN stack is disconnected from the MGCP call-agent (CUCM).

If you want to preserve calls, then use H.323.

Hope to help, please remember to rate the post if it does.

Kind regards,

- Adrian.
