Hi All,
I'm trying to pick up the SIP
concepts and I have the few questions on this subject with respect to SIP support on Callmanager 5.0.
1. To design SIP based enterprise solution using Cisco components, can we replace Call Manager(say ver 5.0 which supports SIP) with Cisco SIP Proxy Server? or do we still need to have Call Manager?
2. If we need a callmanager , does this callmanager acts as a SIP proxy, location, registrar servers or do i need to install these servers in addition to the callmanager ?
3. If i understood the basic concepts of SIP correctly , call routing intelligence should be on the endpoints(like IP phones ) , if so , what is the role of callmanager in the SIP implementation (if it doesn't act as proxy, redirect server) ?
Can you please help me in clarifying these queries.
