calls are connecting but no media

Hi All

One of our customer experiencing an issue -

Calls are connecting but no media when answered.

When calls made FROM/TO  IP phones via ISDN calls are getting (Phone is ringing) but when answere there is no media (Dead Air).

Any one expericed this issue, reloaded the router and fixed but this is the 3rd time its happening...

Hi,

So every time this happens you reboot the gateway and it works? Why dont you upgrade your ios to 15.1.4 and see if it resolves the issue

Hi

What versoin of CUCM?CME you are using.

what router is used as gateway

what IOS is running on the router.

CUCM 7.1.5

VG = Cisco 2900

IOS = 15.1(2)T1

Only temp fix is it reload the VG.

Hi,

I suspect some hardware issue. Do you have extra PRI module which can go in to this router and test it. How is PRI modems status when call is passed.

Hi Ron,

PRI is working fine.... calls are hitting the gateway and IP phones are ringing when called but cant hear anything bothways.

could you please check the following

  1. IP reachability between the endpoints (If possible try to ping the source ep ip address to destination ep ip address)

  2. If compression is enabled, then is it enabled in all the path

  3. Is the codec is negotiated correctly??

All the above option are checked and working fine.
