Hello,
I have configured my MGCP gateway to register with my CUCM. However, only calls from CUCM is successful whereas calls from simulated PSTN fails.
Please find attached debugs and gateway configs.
Appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Just want to know have you configured in CUCM for the 4 digit number (internal extension).
since from the below it's giving the entire called number 5553003, if its 4 digit then it should had only 3003.
Calling Party Number i = 0x4180, '5554444' Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local) Called Party Number i = 0xC1, '5553003' Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)
For the working please see below output.
Channel ID i = 0xA98382
Exclusive, Channel 2
Calling Party Number i = 0x2181, '9920713535'
Plan:ISDN, Type:National
Called Party Number i = 0xC1, '3656'
Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)
High Layer Compat i = 0x9181
where the called number is reduced to 4 digit number to accept the call / to reach particular destination.

Yeah, I had configured significant digits 4. I have another site configured using H323 gateway and its working.
Calling Party Number i = 0x4180, '5554444'
Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)
Called Party Number i = 0xC1, '5552001'
Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)

also put the highest CSS to the call routing information - inbound call.
if all done good then try to do no mgcp and mgcp may be it should help.

I tried assigning a CSS which includes all the partitions but still not working.

Please reset the gateway and do no mgcp and mgcp if possible.

I've tried that previously. And the PSTN phone behaviour is weird, I can see the ring out message for about 5 seconds, and then unknown number will be shown. However, the phone never rings.

can you collect "debug isdn q931" from the MGCP GW only? and provide the calling/called numbers.
in the MGCP endpoint configuration of CUCM, how are the significant digits & CSS configured under "Call Routing Information - Inbound Calls"? and how many digits are your internal extension?

Hello, please find the debug .
The calling number is 5554444, called number is 5553003
*Apr 8 17:30:58.131: ISDN Se0/0/0:23 Q931: RX <- SETUP pd = 8 callref = 0x0095
Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A2
Standard = CCITT
Transfer Capability = Speech
Transfer Mode = Circuit
Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s
Channel ID i = 0xA98381
Exclusive, Channel 1
Progress Ind i = 0x8583 - Origination address is non-ISDN
Calling Party Number i = 0x4180, '5554444'
Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)
Called Party Number i = 0xC1, '5553003'
Plan:ISDN, Type:Subscriber(local)
*Apr 8 17:30:58.143: ISDN Se0/0/0:23 Q931: TX -> RELEASE_COMP pd = 8 callref = 0x8095
Cause i = 0x8081 - Unallocated/unassigned number
I configured significant digits of 4. My internal extension are 4 digits. As for the CSS im not so sure, its associated to trunk_css, which includes internal phone and system partitions.

Cause i = 0x8081 - Unallocated/unassigned number indicates that the call is unable to reach the destination number.
As you mentioned the trunk_css should have the partition assigned to extn 3003.
could you search the route plan report for the extn 3003?
04-08-2014 02:51 AM
Yeah, trunk_css contains internal and system partition, the phone is in internal partition,
My internal DN is 2003,this is my external phone mask +665215553XXX
And yeah, I can see the route plan report

And how did you configure significant digits for inbound calls? On CM?
BR,
Dragan

Hi Dragan,
I configured 4 for significant digits for inbound calls, as for the CSS, I've included the partition for the phone.
04-08-2014 03:07 AM
You can't take 4 - you have 2003 internal not 3003!
Change that - or do what Suresh suggest and give phone 3003 extension...

Dragan
