Can CEF be disabled for a specific VLAN ?

Hello there,

We have just migrated to a VoIP solution and are seeing a few issues with traffic traverses the LAN/WAN.  Basically the 'brains' of the solution have been implemented at our DC and the remote shelf at a location. The DC has dual WAN links as does the remote site.

At the remote site, there is a core 6506 and access layers made up of 3750s (layer 2).  Internally we have eigrp running on the 6506 and CeF is enabled. To restrict the VoIP RTP traffic to one WAN link PRB has been configured to forward traffic from voip related source ip's to a layer 3 interface on the 6506 to which one of the WAN routers is connected.

When running packet captures, I am still seeing some traffic on the second layer 3 interface for the second WAN router. However when reading further on CEF, will the PRB be superseded by CEF?

Secondly, is there any way of either disabling CEF for a specific VLAN?

Thanks.

On the platforms you mentioned, there is no way to disable CEF, and even if there, there would be no reason to.

So may you have to look into more detail what your problem really is, and explain it better.
