Can I use a PVDM4-64 on a NIM-8MFT-T1/E1?

Replacing 2800s with 4300s.  The customer has 2 PRI connections and a bonded T1.  Can I do a PVDM4-64 to cover the 2 voice ports on one NIM or do I need to do 2 NIMs and put the PVDM4 on the 2 port card?  I would assume I could do a PVDM4-64 on the NIM-8MFT-T1/E1 which would allow me to only spin up 2 of the 8 ports for voice.

Thanks!

It depends on your resilience level for choosing one module, two modules or even two routers. For the DSP, it depends on whether you have any transcoding or conferencing requirement. You can use the DSP calculator for calculating how many DSP require.

right.  But do need to have enough DSPs to make all the ports voice capable?  I know it is possible in theory, but I have never tried this in practice.  Will an 8 port NIM require 192 dsp channels?  Or  can I put a 64 on the NIM and only make 2 of the ports voice capable.

Yes, you can.
