Our CUCM is integrated with AD.
Many people can access Voice mail with out any problem by pressing messages button or dailing 8888 number.
But i have two users who is not able to do so. When they dial or press the messages button then get the default cisco opening greeting.
I checked the extensions and they are fine.
What else has to be checked.
Faster responses are appreciated.
Thanks.

Make sure the voicemail profile on their DN is the same as others. If it is use port monitor to observe what digits are coming to voicemail system.

Hi.
To add a tip to what Chris Suggested (+5P), verify that the users have been correctly imported on unity connections and defined as voicemail users

Yes it is.
Port Monitor says it is dialed to 8888. What else to check on this.

Do they have mailboxes on Unity Connection?
These must be created for each user. This can be done by importing the users from LDAP or CUCM (if set up) or just created manually on Unity Connection.
If they do have mailboxes do the extensions configured on them match those on CUCM?
It is always worth checking these basic things before going any deeper.

James,
I did check those two.
Extensions match. Mailboxes are there.

HI Deva,
+5 to my friends Chris, James & Carlo for all the great help
here and as always!
When Chris noted using the Port Monitor what he wants you to look
at is what does CUC see coming into it from the extension when the
message key is pressed.
We need to know if the extension is xxxx and CUC is seeing yyyy
this would fully explain this behavior.
Cheers!
Rob

Hi Deva.
With that MASK, user voicemail extension should be defined as 3+last four digits of ip phone user's extension
EG.
User Extension 1000
On UC should be 31000
Infact on port monitor I can se 31722 as calling number.
Just check it and let us know

Deva,
I also see that the user called 8000 rather than 8888 which you had noted
as the Unity Connection pilot # earlier.
Cheers!

Thats my bad. It is 8000.
The sample screenshot which i uploaded was for a working user. I am asking if the screen tells anything weird.
When an user calls from a phone number 4043000335, what it should be there in the screen. Everything seems perfect but I don't understand what is the problem.

Hi Deva.
Just a couple of questions
-which is the extension number of a non working user?
-which is the extension defined in voicemail box for that user?
Can you please post the port monitor output for a non working user?
Thanks
Regards
Carlo

Hi Deva,
No worries
It would be best if you could post up the same screenshot from a non-working user like
4043000335 if that is one of the users having this issue. From your previous info like
3XXXX being the VMmask you would expect to see 30335 in the redir columns & 30335
as the mailbox extension in Unity Connection.
Cheers!
Rob
