Can the "host part" of the SIP registration be altered on the 7960 IP Phone with SIP image?

Hi all,

We are attempting to set up a bunch of Cisco 7960 IP phones using a SIP image (v8.12 - I think) to a Tandberg VSX. Whilst we can get this to work, there seems to be no way of setting the 'host part' of the SIP registration name that that IP phone uses to register. It appears that the IP phone appends the proxy address to the name set in the SIP --> Line settings. Currently we do not utilise DNS for the VSX so have the proxy address (in the phone SIP settings) set as the IP address of the VSX. This means that the IP phone insist of registering in the fashion: - ipphonename@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the VSX proxy)

Is there any way to set a different 'host part' of the SIP registration (i.e domain name) on the phone so it can use a domain name when registering although still look to an IP address of the proxy?

Cheers

Chris

We have not managed to do this exactly but have created some RegEx transforms on the VCS that strip out the 'wrong' Domain part.
