Cannot Access CUCM Publisher

Hello Experts, I need some help in diagnosing a problem I am having in my environment.

I have 2 cucm a subscriber and a publisher. They were both working well until I realize that I can no longer login to the publisher via web portal, the error I got was: "connection failed".

Out of frustration, I hard restart the CUCM and now I cannot even get the web portal. It's telling me

"This site can’t be reached  192 .XX.XXX.X refused to connect.

I then tried to access the CUCM from CLI but when I entered the username and password it got this these messages(Attached file)

Can some please help me out here, I have researched a lot about the error but can't seem to pinpoint the issue. I need to get in the publisher to make some needed changes to the phones.

Specs details: System version: 7.1.3.30000-1

When I check the Unified CM overview I cannot see am=nything for the publisher because it's saying "Source has failed due to Tomcat on 192.XX.XXX.X being unreachable"

How else can I boot the publisher to at least try and run the web service(tomcat)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi

Please verify that network settings on the switch port in front of the publisher are correct.

As you cannot even ping the publisher, It may have crashed.

You can plug a keyboard and a screen on the server to see what is happening on console.

You can try the recovery tool to recover from some situation but cucm 7.1 is very old and EOS. The oldest version available is from 8.5 :

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/283423434/type/282074294/release/8.5%25281%2529

It might be simpliest to reinstall a new server and restore your last backup.

Good luck

I can ping the publisher fine. no issue with pinging. unfortunately, I don't even have a backup as I recently inherited the site. If only I could get into it and create a backup. can the CUCM both from a disc if it is that the HD is dead? if yes, what OS can I look for?

I have managed to get in via CLI as but all my services are showing status "STARTING" please see a print out:

Any idea why this is happening and how can i fix this. Please guys any help is greatly appreciated.

Best you can do is reach out to your SE/AM and see if they can manage to get you the recovery disk for your version to try to fix it, if it doesn't work, you'll have to rebuild.

Hi

As you can see, the filesystem is mounted in read only.

So you might try to run fsck on this with the recovery tool I pointed.

I will be better to get the version 7.1 of this tool I guess.

If it doesn't work the hard drive is maybe damaged (or at least one of the two raid unit).
