Cannot use AS5400 as software MTP

Hi guys,

I have been trying to get this working without any success and I really need some extra MTPs.

Not sure why, but cannot use my AS5400 as software or even hardware MTP for my CUCM 7.1.5.34900-7.

Same deal if I try it with another cluster with 8.5.1.

AS5400 is 15.1(3)T4 but also tried it with an old 12.4T image with same results.

Configuration is very simple:

dspfarm profile 8 mtp

codec g711ulaw

maximum sessions software 10

associate application SCCP

sccp ccm 10.198.161.86 identifier 6 version 7.0

sccp ccm group 4

associate ccm 6 priority 1

associate profile 8 register MTP-Prueba

Just trying to call a SIP phone internally with MTP required but the call fails everytime. If I would use the CUCM MTP, it works fine.

The error I get on the traces is:

19:08:00.995 |StationInit: (0000004) OpenReceiveChannelAck Status=1 (Error: Endpoint failed to open receive channel), IpAddr=IpAddr.type:1 ipAddr:0x00000000000000000000000000000000(::), Port=0, PartyID=16777219|1,100,50,1.196957^10.198.104.24^MTP-Prueba

19:08:00.996 |AgenaInterface(4)::sendErrorToMX, Audio Channel OLCAck with error recd|1,100,50,1.196957^10.198.104.24^MTP-Prueba

I want to know if someone has used such AS5400 as MTP, or if anyone knows a good reason why this just won't ever work.

Thanks,

Randall,

The AS5400 doesn't show up as a compatible MTP resource for Callmanager use:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_6_1/ccmsys/a05dsp.html#wp1044172

Hope that helps.

we have faced the same kind of issue in our network.

It got resolved after enabling the  G.722 codec in phone page , refer the attachement

Before it was disabled and we enabled it and restarted the phone.

You can check and try the same fix in your network.

What does the OpenReceiveChannel message look like?  Can you post the full CallManager traces?

Can you try adding codec-passthrough on the dspfarm profile as well and then run "no sccp/sccp"?
