Anyone out there have any tips on getting 5.x installed on a VMWare image. I am trying to set up a lab for testing apps?

Make sure that you select the guest operating system as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, selct 2 GB of RAM, 72 Gig HD.
As the source use the DVD Drive or select the ISO if you are going to use iso instead.
That's it.

In addition to what Chris said, CM 5.x will install natively in VMWare as well. It will tell you that it is not a supported platform, but install just the same.
The other issue that you are going to run into is that you need to install a license for CM and DLU's for devices. Talk with your local Cisco office about getting their VMWare image or possibly helping you out with licensing as Cisco licensing *typically* doesn't allow you to register VMWare MAC addresses.
Thanks,
Jon
