CCME - speed dial with 7960 & 7914

Hi,

To better understand, here is the

config of the E-phone :

ephone 1

mac-address 0013.60B5.26E5

speed-dial 1 428# label "Andy"

speed-dial 2 429# label "Jo"

speed-dial 3 0035297808722# label "Phone"

type 7960 addon 1 7914

button 1o10,26,27,28,29,32,33,34,35,36,37,71,72,73,74,75,76 7m9 8m15 9m18

button 10m21 11m23 12m17 13m24

button 14m19 15m13 16m12 17m4

we see that line 1 is configured, then line 7 to 17 of the 7914 module are configured to monitor other lines.

My problem is the following : The 3 speeddial entries defined in the ephone appears in the lines 18,19 and 20 of the 7914 module instead of using the free lines of the 7960 phone, that is to say lines 2,3,4 for example.

It is of no use to have those Speed dial in the 7914 because no line state appearance is needed.

Is there a way to make them appear onto the 7960.

Is that a problem ? or does it work as designed :-) ?

Thanks for your help

Hi Frederic,

I think this is working as designed, but you should be able to manipulate this by the order in which you configure the ephone. Have a look at this little tech note **;

Speed-Dial Buttons and Abbreviated Dialing: Example

The following example defines two locked speed-dial numbers with labels to appear next to the speed-dial buttons on ephone 1.**These speed-dial definitions are assigned to the next empty buttons after all extensions are assigned.** For instance, if two extensions are assigned on the Cisco Unified IP Phones 7960 and 7960G, these speed-dial definitions appear on the third and fourth buttons.

ephone 1

mac-address 1234.5678.ABCD

button 1:24 2:25

speed-dial 1 +5002 label Receptionist

speed-dial 2 +5001 label Security

From this doc;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00807d62fa.html#wp1011116

So, if you setup the 7960 first and then added the 7914 after the Speed dials should be assigned to buttons 3 and 4.

Hope this helps!

Rob
