I have followed the docs on this subject which say they are relevant to CCME, but I cannot get the backgound images to appear in the user preferences on the 7970s. Please could someone tell me if this is possible, and if so how do I sort it.
Yes it's possible. Please enable "term mon" and "debug tftp-events". You will see the files that the telephone is requesting and catch any configuration mistake.
