Change a Route Pattern to Redirect to External Number

I have a phone number that is setup as a Route Pattern so that calls to that number are directed to a Fax server. I need to change it so that calls to that number now get forwarded to an external phone number. What would be the easiest way to do this?

Use a translation pattern

We may also need Calling Search Space on Translation Pattern to access partition the route pattern is in.
Route Patterns mostly have a partition assigned to it as it provides access to external patterns and should be secure.
On the contrary, depending on your requirement, Route Pattern should directly forward call to an external number through the gateway which translation pattern cannot.
