Change the IP Phones language in CUCM 11.5

Hi All,

I have installed CUCM 11.5, with IP Phones 7900 (7911, 7931, 7975), and 7916 expansion module, how can I change the language from English to French, please give me the modification procedures in detail?

1. Install proper Language locale on CUCM servers for either French France, or French Canada.
2. Then update user and network local on the phones' common device config or directly on the device settings
3. Reset phones
4. You may also want to update end users' locale.

I tried the above steps but it is not working for me in the below versions. Any idea please?
CUCM - 10.5.2
Phone model - 8851, 8831
Phone firmware - sip88xx.11-7-1-17

Did you went through the documentation for the locale to make sure the language you want is available for those models?

You are correct. The locale readme did not list the phone as a supported model.

We are planning to update the locale
