Changing Names of CSS, Partitions etc

Hi

We are opening a new Head Office and will be moving our CuCM, UCCX, ARC Servers etc to it.

The existing gateways will remain where they are, however, we will also be adding Gateways to the new office

The downside of this is I need to rename the existing Partitions, CSS's,Regions etc.

What I want to know is if I change, say, a Device Pool name or a Partition name does this get reflected throughout the relevant fields in the database

For example with the Partition this would would also change its entry in any relevant CSS and on Physical phones and user profiles ?

Many thanks,

David Arnold

Hi David,

When you change the partition or device pool name, it is automatically updated on the associated entries in the database. You can test it by creating  a dummy partition, css and device pool.

Hi David,

Yes, it does work the same way. I renamed the location and region and the device pool automatically got updated with the new names.

Hi Manish

Thanks for that, unfortunately I do have anything to test this in and am not allowed to "Test" things in the production network.

Does this also work for locations and regions as I will need to change these as well

thanks

David
