CIPC Deployment

Hello,

I am enquiring on deploying CIPC using SMS. I have found plenty of docs on how to manipulate device names, TFTP servers, Etc... but I can not find a way to automatically select the box under the audio tab marked "optimize for low bandwidth" to force the device to user G729. Has any one performed this with success?

Codec selection such as g729 is controlled and configured from call manager not from the phone side

I checked it on my machine and it is stored in the registry as a DWORD NetworkUseG729Only. If you set it to 1 it will effectively enable "optimize for low bandwidth"

The key location is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, Inc.\Communicator

You should manage to automate setting that registry key for the user.
