Cisco 1760 FXO with Call Manager Express

Hello. We have a 1760 with a 2 port FXO card. The goal is to do the following.

Incoming calls on the Analogue line ring extension 5 on the cisco phones and also ring the old analog (house type) phones. (Phone line split to Routers FXO card, port 0, and also the wireless base unit for the analog system.

outgoing calls and be placed by picking up an analog phone and dialing like normal, and on a cisco phone by dialing 9, then the number (with area code).

Is this all possible? What would I need to setup? Dail-Plan?

I attempted to setup the fxo and have issues.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Cisco 1760 FXO with Call Manager Express

Hi,

Some of the features for the CME will depend on the CME version and the IOS version.

Caller ID this may work - cant promise

Change the config of the voice port to include:-

!

dial-peer voice 1 pots

description INCOMING MATCHING

incoming called-number .

no vad

caller-id enable

caller-id alerting dsp-pre-alloc

supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
timeouts wait-release 5

timeouts call-disconnect 5

port 0/3

!

Dialling out

I am not sure of the dialling plan for your country

I gave you a general dial peer which would allow you to dial a 9 followed by any digits. The 9 is NOT sent to line it gets dropped.

You will also need to wait on the interdigit timer to expire or type "#" at the end of dialling.

So the dial peer supllied is :-

!

dial-peer voice 9 pots

description OUTGOING LEVEL 9 CALLS

destination-pattern 9T

! (THE 9 ABOVE  IS NOT SENT TO LINE BUT ALL OTHER DIGITS DIALLED ARE AS "T" IS A WILDCARD)

no vad

port 0/3

!

If you want to make  new dial peers copy this one change some parameters and paste to connfig.

Each dial peer need to have a unique number at the start -

dial-peer voice 9 pots

dial-peer voice 911 pots

dial-peer voice 107 pots

Really whatever suits you between 1- 1073741823

Lets say you need a peer to match 9.911 for emergency

!

dial-peer voice 911 pots

description OUTGOING FOR 911 CALLS

destination-pattern 9911

! (ALL DIGITS ARE DROPPED AS THERE IS NO WILDCARD)

forward-digits 3

!( WE ARE TELLING THE ROUTER TO SEND THE LAST 3 DIGITS - I.E. 911)

no vad

port 0/3

!

So now

Lets say you need a peer to match 9.14085551234 for a national call

!

dial-peer voice 91 pots

description OUTGOING FOR NATIONAL CALLS

destination-pattern 91..........

! (THIS TIME 91 WILL BE DROPPED)

prefix 1

!( WE TELLING THE ROUTER TO SEND 1 FOLLOWED BY THE "." WILDCARDS I.E. 14085551234 or

! ANY OTHER PATTERN THAT MATCHES THE "." WILD CARDS)

no vad

port 0/3

!

May be my explanation is heavy going. (I find it a wee bit hard to explain)

Look at this link , you may get a better understanding of dial peer.

Cisco 1760 FXO with Call Manager Express

I dolnt see why it would not work.

On the fxo port confugure plar:-

eg'

!

voice-port 0/3

cptone YOUR COUNTRY CODE

connection plar 5

no vad

!

!

dial-peer voice 1 pots

description INCOMING MATCHING

incoming called-number .

no vad

port 0/3

!

dial-peer voice 9 pots

description OUTGOING LEVEL 9 CALLS

destination-pattern 9T

no vad

port 0/3

!

Thanks. That helped. Calls come into extesion 5.

We dial 9.1. area code. number.

(Is there anyway to not have to dial #1?)

So, outbound works pretty well.

Imcoming calls enter the system time. However, there is no caller ID (is this possible), and more importanly, if we answer the call from the analouge phones, the cisco system still rings. How could that be corrected?

Thanks Again.

Re: Cisco 1760 FXO with Call Manager Express

Thanks Again, I have a better understanding of the outgoing call setup.

However, The same issue is present with imcoming calls. This maybe because the router did not accept the following commands...

supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
timeouts wait-release 5

timeouts call-disconnect 5

Outgoing is perfect, I setup a speed dial for 9,1,and the local area code. Just incomming that is giving me a problem.

Caller ID is not supported by my FXO, I ordered the wrong model.
