Hi I have a Cisco 3825 that is surplus to requirement and I need to convert it for voice for a new office.
It will need to connect to an ISDN30 so I believe I will need a vwic2 1mft E1/T1 controller module.
Where do DSP's come into it? Are they H/W or S/W, are they part of the E1 controller card or is it something else I need?
Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi,
You will need vwic2 1mft E1/T1
That will allow the physical connection of an ISDN30 PRI (E1 =30 channels , T1 24 Channels)
You also require a DSP chip to converts the POTS or PRI to IP packets
For E1/T1 you need
PVDM2-32 to enable all channnels
This plugs in to the PVDM slot on the motherboard of the router ( Yes Lid off)
