And after we specify the card type as below:

card type e1 0 3

But the problem is when want to configure the "network-clock-participate" for this controller it show the following message:

network-clock-participate wic 0

WIC slot is empty or does not support clock participate

And if i want to configure the "network-clock-participate" from the slot it like below:

network-clock-participate slot ?

<1-4> Slot Number

and when try to ignore this message and create the "pri-group timeslots" it show like below:

pri-group timeslots 1-31 service mgcp

%Configure network-clock-participate wic <slot> first

i think the slot 0 in the 3845 router is not support for this card "VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1", can anyone confirm this, or provide me with the solution.

Hi Mohammed,

VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 is card supported on 3845 router .

In case, if it was not supported , then message in show diag would have shown as Port Adaptor UNKNOWN.

The error message which u are gtting while configuring network clock partiticpiate is becuase if FXO card card inserted in slot 0 .Either u insert VWIC2 card in slot 0 and configure the command network-clock-participate wic 0 or other way is to configure network-clockpartiticpate wic 3.

the router has a E1 installed on slot three up and running, and we have "network-clock-participate slot 2" in the configuration, so if i add "network-clockpartiticpate wic 3" command will solve the problem and let the controoler to get it clock from wic 3? and does it affect the running interfaces?

the router in now configured with :

no network-clock-participate wic 3

network-clock-select 1 E1 2/0

and after i read the document, what happned if i add the following commands:

network-clock-participate wic 3

network-clock-select 2 E1 3/0

does this affect the running controllers?does this solve my problem?

Hi Mohammed,

when u enter the commands network-clock-participate slot 2 and 3 respectively, then u need to enter network-clock -select as well by assigning the priority 1 and 2 . In case of failure of link terminated on 2 , link terminated on 3 would be used as clock source.

When u enter the commands, the running controllers would take the clock from first priority source.Do it in maintenance window for 10 minutes.

You can run show netowrk-clocks to check the clocking source.

or just make one clock souce.
