Cisco 7906 IP Phone is not registering with Asterisk

I configured my Cisco IP Phone 7906 to work with asterisk using SIP protocol.

The display just shows “Registering” message and stays for a while.

I am apple to make outgoing calls but when dialing the phone extension, I get busy tone.

Any idea where could be the problem?

check the settings for that ext/phone number in the server. compare it with a working phone extension. do not create an ext by copy an ext and changing the ext to match the new ext.
