Hi All,
I am facing the intermittent problem only for 1 cisco ip phone 7942g.If i pick up the recevier i am not able to answer it.If i press answer button also notable to do it.I have replaced the cisco ip phone and changed to different port,I am getting the same issue.This issue is intermittent issue.

No Known bug for this. Try to upgrade your firmware and see if issue gets resolved.

Try raising TAC case and see if you get replacement for it. I suspect hardware defect.

Just to add a note to the good tips from Ronak (+5) I think it's probably related to the 9.1.1 Firmware.
Here are 3 related bugs;
CSCti17718 - No dialtone while setup a new call with handset offhook
CSCti13009 - Phone can't answer the call by offhook or press headset/speaker
CSCti49760 - Incoming call cannot be answered the first time by offhook
I would try upgrading the firmware on one of the trouble phones to see if it fixes the issue. The latest available is;
