Cisco 840 mobile phone issue, unable to search corporate directory

Purchased new Cisco 840 mobile phones to replace aging 7925 and 8821 models. When attempting to search my corporate directory on an registered and active 840 handset, the search hangs, eventually timing out with the following message server authentication timeout. unable to validate server at this time. Both the 7925 and 8821 do not experience this issue and can successfully search my corporate directory. CM is running System version: 14.0.1.13900-155. Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so how did you correct it?
