Hello

I am planing to buy Cisco 8851 or 8861 IP phones.

Can i use these phones with 3CX or any other VoIP provider? I do not have Cisco unified system.

If i can use then do i need to change any firmware or it is ready to use same as Cisco 525G.

Thanx

Yes, this is very do-able.

Go HERE.  I've attached a known working SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml for a working 8861 that is using an Asterisk as the call server.

Hi Leo

It has been a long since i posted this question.

Finally i got Cisco 8865.

I went to the link which you send me in above post. But i think it was for older series (8900/6900).

My model is newer series 8800. I read somewhere that this new series is ready to use with third party call control (like 3cx?).

But when i plugged in the phone into network, i do not see any option to set it up with 3cx.

On screen it just ask for some QR code scan option.

Pls help me how to resolve this.

Thanks

Sanket

The configuration is valid for Cisco phones running SIP.  Try it.

Thanks for your time Leo.

I did uploaded SEP94D4690BC4ED.cnf.xml to TFTP server.

Two things:

Phone is working - Can make call and receive but No voice at any side.

Both party cannot hear voice at all.

and:

following is the log from TFTP

I have following files in TFTP folder:

SEP94D4690BC4ED.cnf.xml

sip88xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC.loads

sb288xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC.sbn

vc488xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC.sbn

fbi88xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC.sbn

kern88xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC.sbn

rootfs88xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC.sbn

Can make call and receive but No voice at any side.

That's not a phone configuration problem.  No voice is a NAT problem with the router.

It is in LAN.

Layer 2 and no VLAN no router. Simple network.

Layer 2 and no VLAN no router

Draw your network.

Ok, now its working.

I did reset extension on 3cx.

But Expansion module is not working. It says disabled by administrator.

How can i resolve this?

And is it possible to configure this phone from webpage? Like Cisco 525G.

Thanks

And is it possible to configure this phone from webpage?

No.

And what about expansion module not working.

It says disabled by administrator.

It says disabled by administrator.

1.  The KEM is not working because the configuration file doesn't specify the KEM.

2.  The priority right now is to get the phone to work.

As said before Phone is working now.

Two things i am not able to do:

1. Expansion module is not working

2. Cannot upgrade firmware (to sip88xx.10-4-1SR2-85-3PCC)

First one is priority.

for Key Expansion Module i added following:

<addOnModules>
<addOnModule idx="1">
<deviceType>BEKEM</deviceType>
<deviceLine>36</deviceLine>
</addOnModule>
</addOnModules>

KEM is on now. But now i do i setup dial numbers for each key ?

Please help Leo.
