I have a customer on CUCM 14 with 8841 and 8851 IP phones. The default ringtone for these seems to be "Sunrise" which seems to be the same whether the caller is an inside caller or an outside caller.
For 7900 phones the default ringtone changed according to whether the caller was internal (one ring) or external (two rings).
One of the users has asked whether their 8851 phone can be configured so that the ring tone indicates whether the caller is internal or external.
I am wondering whether if they set it to use the "Chirp" ringtone whether this will ring differently to indicate internal or external calls.
Unfortunately the customer is a long way away so I cannot test with their system and I do not have a lab system configured so hopefully some kind person can answer this or can test this for me.
