hi all,
I have a problem with CISCO 9971 phone when i use the SRST mode : the phone cannot be registred on the SRST. i m using the CISCO IOS 15.1( 1) on 2951.
Please , would you mind to give me a configuration to use Cisco SIP Phone on SRST ( 9971 using SIP by Default).
Thanks in advance
Best regards

The below link will give you the compatibility metrics with IOS, SRST version and the phone loads.

Now coming to the question of configuring the 9971 phone with SIP load in the SRST mode, below is the configuration
1. At CUCM site, in the SRST configuration page, please make sure we have the SIP Network/IP Address configured.
2. At router site
configuration on router:
=========================
voice service voip
allow-connections sip to sip
sip
registrar server
voice register global
max-dn 100
max-pool 42
!
voice register dn 1
number 2001
!
voice register pool 1
id network 10.79.163.0 mask 255.255.255.0 // must be the ip network for IP Phone, id mac will not work. When phone registers, it will send sip message to router with its own ip address
call-manager-fallback
max-conferences 8 gain -6
transfer-system full-consult
ip source-address 10.79.163.6 port 2000
max-ephones 42
max-dn 100
!
=================================================================
SRST#sh sip-ua status registrar
Line destination expires(sec) contact

Hope this helps. Cheers

Excellent post. Solved all my issues. Was overlooking the CUCM configuration for SIP in SRST reference.

Under the voice register pool, there is a maximum of 5 aliases that can be set, how do we configure this when more than 5 9971 phones are in SRST mode and each need to receive inbound PSTN calls with a separate DID?
I was thinking a register pool for each phone using "id mac" would be the workaround but as you stated, this does not work (9971 phone does not register with id mac).
thanks
