Hey i dont use ATA's much, except for faxing. However today i had to deploy one for a client and it failed miserably with horrible call quality. I was wondering if anyone knew why. First piece of evidence is that my ping time across the lan to these ATA's is 60-70ms ( time=65ms TTL=249 ), whereas desk phones like a 8841 are all 1ms. All computers on the lan are 1-3ms. Only the ATA's are poor quality pings and are on the same vlan as the phones so it doesnt make sense to me.
Below is the config i am using for the ATA's. Like i said, doesnt matter what switch on site i plug them into they are all doing the same thing. I have 6 ata's. For faxing it does not seem to matter, but for voice it does matter, which is why i never noticed the call quality problems before.

Any ideas? Is it because they are all running at 10mbps half duplex? is it a codec issue?
