Dear Cisco Community.

Good Day to All.

I have intermediate knowledge in Cisco VOIP and Collaboration platform.
Recently i have procured Cisco ATA 190 device to facilitate FAX serviceFAX on our by using Cisco UCM on our existing SIP Trunk.
Since my ISR Router doesn't have FXO/FXS module to have Analog lines, so we havCiscoATAFAXFAe installed Cisco ATA 190 and its registered with Call manager, we are able to dial to extension from internal extension and external numbers too.

However, when i do Fax test on the Fax device, its getting test unsuccessful!!.
Can anyone could help me to fix the problem, I would like to know is it possible to have FAX service over SIP Trunk, will it enable to default from SIP Provider ?
Is there any other setting to with call manger other than above ?

Appreciate your kind help and guidance.

Regards,

FARIS

Some regions fax works on T.38 and some on passthrough. Don't know which works in your region.

You can try below configuration.

For Below configuration Fax sends and receives  through T.38 first and fallback to passthrough in case T.38 is not available

in global configuration mode Enter below commands

  • voice service voip
    fax protocol t38 fallback pass-through g711alaw

Then a dial-peer must be added to route incoming faxes to CUCM.

dial-peer voice 1 voip
description INCOMING FAX FROM PSTN TO CUCM
destination-pattern 4..
session target ipv4:10.10.10.1
session protocol sipv2
codec g711alaw
no vad

What you search for is T38. Check if this is a service you have on the SIP service from your service provider. You can also search for information on how to configure T38 on the SBC that you hopefully have to connect to the ITSP SIP service.
