Hello all,

Has anyone found a way to make the 7821 or 7925 alert in some way when they either drop registration or lose wifi connection?

Thank you.

What's the use if they "lose connection"?  Once they lose connection they can't send any data back until the wireless network is restored.

What can be done is to use SNMP to constantly poll the units.  When they loose a certain amount of packets, then the script can raise an alarm.

What I am looking for is for the handset to make a noise of some kind to let the user know that they are out of range or they have walked out of the building with the phone in there pocket.

I know the 7925G will make a loud beep when out of wireless range.

Now that I have my hands on a 7925G I am unable to get it to make any kind of notification sounds when it goes out of wireless range. Is there a setting that needs to be enabled?
