Cisco CUCM 6.1.5: Media List Exhausted, many conference calls failed to connect

Dear all,

My CUCM is 6.1.5.10000-10.

Media resourse is enabled on pub and sub. All devices, MOD, CFB, voice gateway, IVR are g711 with no expeption.

Agent receive call and make conference out every day. Everything is normal.

But sometime, the conference fail in overall system. An error pop up in RTMT says "MediaListExhausted". It happend every 2 or 3 months.

When it happend, I just reset the IP Voice Media Streaming and Cisco Call Manager service. The system back to work.

But today, I reset too many times for those services, but it does not help.

I'm wonder if there is a known bug find in Cisco cause this problem.

Regards,

Thanh

hello Doan,

The "MediaListExhausted" notification means that the Cisco Unified Communications Manager has gone

through all of the devices in the Media Resource Group and was not able to assign a device to use.

This is more of a cosmetic notification and can be ignored unless you receive reports that outbound calls are

not completing. This RTMT notification is likely to appear when :

A number is not dialed correctly. You need to check with the end users to see if they have any

complaints.

a) Cisco Unified Communications Manager is integrated with the Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and a

user dials a number that does not exist on the PBX (an unallocated or unassigned number).

b) Complete these steps in order to stop these messages in the RTMT:

1. Choose Alert Menu > Set Alert Properties.

2. Choose the received alerts and uncheck Enable Alert or choose the alert type, for example,

MediaListExhausted.

3. Click Next

Configure a threshold in order to trigger the alert only when the number of MediaListExhausted

events exceeds a certain number within an hour. This reduces the number of alerts that are received.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Karthik
