Cisco Dialpad not working during phone call

Hi all,

 

I am currently using a Cisco 7962 phone for work. However, the dial pad will not work during a phone call e.g. "Press 1 for sales, press 2 for support" etc. and I cannot select any of these. I hear the beep when I press the numberpad but it's like it doesn't register that I have pressed it.

 

Could anyone kindly provide a solution for this? I can provide any information you may need, just let me know.

I highly doubt this is an issue with the phone itself and more than likely a DTMF issue on the trunk or gateway.
