Hi,
I have a Cisco Fax Server configured to use a Cisco 2911 as the H323 gateway. I can receive faxes with no problem, but my outbound faxes are failing. The debug output is as follows:

I can make outbound calls from my IP Phones without any problems using the same E1. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?
Kind regards,
Sechaba Mokoena

Hi Sechaba,
The cause code from the PRI ,Cause i = 0x8283 - No route to destination, indicates a issue on the telco side. You should engage the telco and have them check how these calls are being processed and if they see a issue from their side.
Are you able to call 0112057584 from a IP phone out that E1 and get a fax tone?

Hi Maciej,
There was a problem on the Telco side. I had to force my Plan and Type on my PRI to Unknown. So I created the following translation rule:
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 // // type national unknown plan isdn unknown
!
!
voice translation-profile fax
translate called 1
I then I applied the rule to my outbound dial-peer:
dial-peer voice 1 pots
tone ringback alert-no-PI
translation-profile outgoing fax
destination-pattern 0T
translate-outgoing called 1
incoming called-number .T
direct-inward-dial
port 0/0/0:15
forward-digits all
Make sure you drop your transmission speed to 9600bps in RightFax. I hope this helps.

Hi
I hade to translate the calling number instead to solve this, the GW was sending with our IP number and most of the Telcos we use in other offices don't bother and just show the main number but this one didn't like that so I had to translate to a calling number in our number series.
