Cisco IP 8832 phone LED issue

We are testing out the Cisco IP 8332 phone and based on the manual the LED light should go red when we mute the cal. This isn't the case on my end. When I mute the call, the light just goes away. I can see the image on the screen show that it is muted but the LED doesn't light up red.

That’s sounds like a hardware defect. Have you updated it to the latest firmware? I’m asking mainly because TAC will. If you have SMARTnet on it, I would open a case. If not and you purchased this from an authorized reseller, they can open an RMA case on your behalf within the manufacturer warranty.

Thank you! It is on the latest firmware so looks to be a hardware issue. We are getting a replacement.

From what you describe and since the mute function works, you should consider the option of asking for an RMA (replacement) since this looks like a hardware issue.
