Cisco Ip-Phone 7940-60 and UCM 11.5.(1) SU5

Hi,

we're planning to upgrade our UCM 11.0.1 to last 11.5.x.

With actual version we've also some 7940 and 60 that works properly (actual firmware was 8.1.sr2).

We know that UCM version 11.5 remove compatibility with some phone models, but not to 7940-60.

Into last 11.5 devpackage file, these models are absent. Ok, it doesn't upgrade these models, that remain at actual version.

But, are these really usable into 11.5.x UCM version..?

Thanks!

Any phone NOT listed in the RN as deprecated can be used in CUCM.

The 7940/7960 are long EOL/EOS, there has no been new FW for those in years

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/unified-ip-phone-7940g/end_of_life_notice_c51-574072.html

Any EOS model that can be configured, can be used with whatever features the last FW provides, but bear in mind that if you run into a bug or a problem, and that is ruled to be related with the phone's HW/SW, most likely there will be no fix.
