Hi Raja,
Why do you want to degrade your IP Phone firmware?
It is because you have downgraded you call manager that you want to down grade your firmware?
If yes, then the IP Phone will automatically downgrade the firmware of Call manager to which it is connected to. During this period the IP Phone will restart 3 times.
This process would take around 15 min.

Shaggy,
if it is just a limited amount of phones or even one phone you want to downgrade,
just go into the Device configuration of the phone and enter the firmware version under:
PHONE LOAD NAME "SCCP75-8-4.2S" (where SCCP75-8-4.2S is an example)
make sure that when you need to install an older version firmware, the DEVICE DEFAULTS are not changed, cos you will be in a world of pain if it has and phones start downgrading in an uncontrolled fashion
Hope it helps
Dennis

Hi,
The phone was connected to call manager 7.X , now I have connected the same phone to call manager 6.X, but what the screen shows is just cisco logo and mac address and upgrading message, the screen goes off for a second and then it shows the previously mentioned message.
In this case, how to proceed further.
