cisco ip phone not avalable; CME, Voice VLAN and a Data VLAN - problem

Hello,

I seeing a problem with an initial test deployment of IP Communicator SoftPhones in that the network is configured for a Voice VLAN and a Data VLAN

When I install a SoftPhone, VLAN data is active and ping is available to the TFTP address, and the Voice VLAN is not available also the address of the TFTP to the Voice VLAN is not active.
After the show ephone command does not have any information

However, when the IP Phone was configured only for 'ip dhcp pool Voice', worked well but the option 'Rings' and 'Background Images' was available only the basic version.

Where is the problem?
Maybe the problem with MS Loopback?

Robert

Hi Robert,

glad that you solved your issue.

For other issue, remove ip helper-address command from interface fastethernet1/0.10

Because the helper address is the same router, you don't need to define it.

Hi Robert,

If IP Communicator is not able to reach the tftp server it remains with the previously downloaded config without showing extension an other options.

Is the tftp server reachable from data VLAN?

Windows could prevent CDP dll to be loaded and the IPC will not join voice vlan.

Please do a show CDP neighbor on the switch where the pc is connected to.

Let me know

Thanks

Carlo

Hi Carlo

Yes, tftp server reachable from data VLAN

from the switch:

Switch_1#show CDP neighbor
Capability Codes: R - Router, T - Trans Bridge, B - Source Route Bridge
S - Switch, H - Host, I - IGMP, r - Repeater

Device ID         Local Intrfce      Holdtme       Capability      Platform         Port ID
CME_c7200     Fas 1/0             159                R                  7206VXR       Fas 1/0
Switch_1#

Thanks

Hi Robert,

On dhcp pool Data, add option 150 ip 192.168.15.2

Reboot your PC and it should work

Hi Carlo

I've done as you have written.
unfortunately, it does not work.
You may have other options?
Thanks for the hint

Robert

Hi Robert,

On IPC configure tftp address manually and see if it makes the difference

Please let me know

Cheers

Carlo

Hi Carlo

it does not work.

On IPC is tftp address manually
192.168.14.6
192.168.15.6

on tftp server is address
192.168.14.6
192.168.14.1

I add to CME Router:

# ntp server 192.168.15.2
# no ip domain-lookup

configuration ephone add:

# call-forward busy 6000
# call-forward noan 6000 timeout 18

I can ping 192.168.14.6 but not 192.168.14.1

Ok.

Please execute following commands in configuration mode on CUCME:

logging buffered 4096

logging monitor debug

end

debug tftp packets

term mon

Restart the IPC

Post the output

Thanks

Hello Kevin
files are in Attachment
thanks

Hi Robert,

Unfortunately it looks for me that CME does not support 7206VXR.

For more info please refer to Cisco Unified CallManager Express and Cisco
