Hello,

You should cross-check that this is not a shared-line.

I have a shared line configured on 3 to 4 boxes as speed dial but even when the number is not in used it keeps showing red light (busy) as if someone is using the line.
what can cause this to happen please need response ASAP

Does the busy status show up on all phone devices that share this line? Can you specify the type/firmware of the phone device as well as the CUCM version?

What is the software version on this device?

The light shows up on all the shared lines and below is the version.
SCCP894x.9-4-2SR2-2
System version: 11.0.1.20000-2

The ip phone is 8941 model

do a route plan report for the shared DN may be it is shared on a phone which you are not aware of.

if it is showing busy and you confirm the line is not busy, this is weird, factory reset the phone.

Check if DN Is shared. Go to the DN and Look for Associated devices. Under the DN Web Page as Shown below. If DN Is shared you will see the Devices listed.

 SharedDN.PNG

Test by removing the DN From all the other Listed Devices
