I'm having intermittent issues with my 8811 hookswitch and they are driving me nuts. The phone randomly thinks the handset has gone off (or on) hook, independent of the actual state. This behaviour continues even if I do not touch the phone for 10 minutes. It also does not matter if I shake or (gently) hit the phone. It does not seem to be a mechanical issue. Weirdly, leaving the phone disconnected for a few hours also temporarily helps. I even went as far as switching out the hookswitch PCB from a different phone. This temporarily fixed the issue (for ~3 days). Then I switched the PCB back and it bought me another 3 days.
I tried "working" the button (pressing it 20-30 times) to try to get it clean to no avail.
I'm using the MPP firmware version 12.0.5 (hardware version V01 should that be important).
Is there anything else I can try to get the ghost to stop using my phone?
(This is particularly annoying as I get the "off-hook alert" after some time, which managed to wake me up last night..)
