I recently worked ( first time ) involving a PIMG with Unity connection digitally trunked to NEC IPS 2000. Its a simple device to setup but there is not much documentation online.
1. To do the first time setup the box comes with default ip address of 10.13.14.74 ( not sure how they decided on this ip ) so all you have to do is connect your laptop/computer back to back to PIMG and access it via web, assign an ip add to your laptop/computer in same network so that two devices can talk, once you can access it from web ( u/n: admin, pass: ipodadmin ) you then can upgrade firmware and make all programming changes to it.
2. Cisco's documentation for NEC PBX says leave MWI ON and OFF DNs blank, you have to get this info from PBX admin and fill it otherwise MWI is not going to work, instead Unity connection is going to make a regular voice call ( outcalling for MWI) to phone everytime its trying to lit the MWI.
3. CPID parsing file has rules by default if your trunks are ISDN but nothing for analog trunks ( DID, DOD etc ), you got to modify CPID Parsing file to accomodate the rules otherwise calls from PSTN ( on Analog Trunks ) into Unity is not going to route to correct AA . One of my collegue working from PBX side was able to figure out the code/routing rules so that was very helpful...cisco's knowledge on Parsing is limited and usually they go to dialogic for support which is M-F only buss hrs.
Here is a working CPID file that is working with NEC IPS 2000. This took us nearly 8 hrs so i hope anybody facing this issue would find this helpful
