Cisco SME cluster vs CUCM cluster version

Hi,

I assume that we can upgrade our SME cluster to a version that will be different than the CUCM cluster.

Or do we have to upgrade all clusters to the same version at the same time?

I'm looking for a document that explains how to upgrade such a cluster.

You can in general upgrade your SME cluster independently of your leaf CM clusters. On the upgrade process, it’s exactly the same as for any other CM system. There are no difference in the actual CM installation, what makes it a SME is the configuration and the use case.

So there is no problem to run an SME cluster at version 14 that route calls to a CUCM version 12.5 for example ?

No there should be no problem with that.

There won't be any problem if your SME is on 14 and leaf on 12.5. 

The best practice are to keep them all on the same version if possible.
