Cisco UCSS Workspace Licensing Track Question

Dominic Ellis

Level 1

Hi,

We are on the Cisco UCSS workspace licensing track.

My understanding is that the only licenses for users are Standard and Professional licenses.

However, I have just seen a license called the CUWL-entry.

Does anyone know anything about this type of license.

Does it include a voicemail license.

Any information gratefully received.

Regards

Dominic

Hi Dominic,

Please find below info and link on User Connect License/CUWL Faq which says about Call Manager 7.1.5.

http://media.gswi.westcon.com/media/Website%20OneX/website%202010/Cisco%20User%20Connect%20Licensing%20-%20FAQ.pdf

Q.Will the legacy licensing model go away? What about customers on existing releases?

Ans. As of release 8.0 (and subsequently 7.1(5) for Cisco Unified Communications Manager), the licensing options are Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing (CUWL) and User Connect Licensing (UCL). Customers on previous versions of products may continue to add servers (server licenses), phones (DLU’s), mailboxes, etc per the legacy licensing model. As soon as the customer migrates to 8.0 or 7.1(5), however, they no longer may use the legacy licensing for their products.

For more, clarity u can speak to Cisco SE/AM.

Hi Dominic,

CUWL bundles  UCM, Unity, Contact Center, conferencing, and other collaboration applications in one of four different editions (Entry, Business, Standard, and Professional).

CUWL-Entry consists of functionality like SNR,CIPC ,IME and Call Control.

For messaging , u need to have Standard Edition.

Thanks Aman for your reply,

I am wondering if these bundles can be applied to any version of CUCM as we are still

on 7.1.5

Hi Aman,

Thanks for your help with this.

Regards

Just to clarify since you asked about UCSS. UCSS is not a license it is software assurance support which entities you to major upgrade of the applications covered under purchased licenses.  ESW smartnet is required to purchase UCSS.  UCSS goes with both CUWL and UCL based licensing.

Chris
