Hi,
I want to confirm something with Cisco UCM version 9. IM and Presence seems to be not native within Cisco UCM as a service. Do I have to install a seperate "Cisco Unified CM IM and Presence Service" server?
If so, is the software installation of "Cisco Unified CM IM and Presence Service" on the same Cisco Unified Communications 9 DVD or a seperate DVD dedicated for the IM and Presence service?
Any help on this would be great. Thank you!

It's still the same as previous versions, one CUCM server, one IM&P server.
Separate install files, only CUCM/CUC/CUCMBE share the same install file.
The main difference is most of the config is done via CUCM and not on the IM&P server
HTH
java

Thanks for the fast response Jaime.
I guess I had high hopes thinking that the CUPS functions were finally intergrated into CUCM. But its Cisco, so I shouldn't be surprised anymore.
Thanks again!
