Cisco Unity 8.x

Hi All,

We have CUCM 8.5 and we want to install Cisco Unity  8.x and integrate it with the CUCM and configure the Auto Attendant in  Cisco Unity (Just Auto Attendant), but we don’t have Domain and Exchange  (or any mail server), so can we install the Cisco Unity and configure  the Auto Attendant on it without joining it to a domain and without  integrating it with Mail server.

No, the install wizard looks for them and won't finish if you do not meet the requirements.

Your option is CUC if you do not have (or want) to integrate with LDAP/Exchange

We already purchased the Cisco Unity and the license, and after we purchase it the customer decide that he will not install exchange or any mail server, but they will install Domain.

so can we install the CU without exchange, and the CU usage will be for Auto Attendant not for voice mail does this possible.

Or there away in Cisco to convert Cisco Unity license to Cisco Unity Connection License, and what is the cost for this

conversion.

thank you.

You can RMA the Unity licenses and purchase UCXN licenses which should be very similar in cost if not cheaper.  Do you have existing CUCM system you are integrating or another PBX that will integrate via PIMG/TIMG as neither Unity nor UCXN can answer calls on its own.

So i want to integrate the Cisco Unity with CUCM, and i want to use it as an auto attendant so i do not need Exchange.

Yes, if we're talking about CUC, and not the old Unity.

Cisco Unity is a dead product, has been for a while.

Unity Connection is replacement and this is an appliance that does not need Exchange.

By itself neither can answer calls and requires to be front ended by a PBX such as Cisco Communications Manager, do you have it?
