Hello,
I have a question or maybe, if i can have some advice.
I have a customer who would like to use Cisco Unity Connection only for Auto Attendant features, voicemail are provide by Exchange UM. So, no voicemail licences (only 5 presently to get auto attendant features)"
To manage user into multiple Directory handler, What type of account do you recommend for create user? users without mailbox? contact?
Need to have extension and a search mechanism for department directory lookup.

You could create users without mailbox for administrative functions.

Hi George ,
I have same request. and i configured user without mail box.
when i use dial by extension "i did nt recognize that is valid entry" msg played for user without mailbox.
but i can dial to extension that i have created with mailbox.
appreciate your help.

Ok, if you need to dial a particular extension then a contact is required.

extension add as a contact but still the same error msg.
does it require license for each user?
