Cisco Unity Connection : import user query ?

Hi Guys !!!

Need a guidance on this one.

when we import a user in unity connection, what exactly happens.

I am new to the unity setup and was studying about it at my workplace , as being an IPT ( new hire) , was asked to import a user on the basis of the extension : 6XXX .

Cisco Unity Connection version: 8.0.3.20000-18,

logged into the Unity GUI >> USERS >>> IMPORT USERS >> FILTERED ON THE BASIS OF EXTENSION >>> got the specific user >> clicked on the import tab . successfully done.

Question >> i kindly wanted to know , that once we import a user, does that mean that the specific user comes in the >> search user option, as happened in my case after importing( and then again searching in the import user, the user resulted in 0 results) .In other words, am i comprehending the import user feature correctly or is there something else in the import user feature on Cisco Unity.

That's pretty much it for the import process. The rest of the config is within the user itself (greetings, recorded name, alternate devices, etc)
