Clean an IP Phone

OK, here's one.  One week ago we got a brand new installation done with all new IP telephony equipment for one of our customers.  Yesterday, the restaurant attached to their building went up in flames.  The firemen had to break out all of their windows and there was a lot of fire and smoke damage to their phones (the server/switch room seems to be OK because it was on a different ventilation system).  The phones are a mess with soot.  They don't want to trash phones that are just over a week old.  Just how much water can you get away with putting on these things?  Is there a solvent that can be used safely?

Hi there,

Well that's not a good story

The best cleaner that I have found for these phones that

does a good job without damaging them is a Foaming

Glass cleaner. I use Bonami. Don't use water.

Cheers!

Thanks Rob.  It's just one that I'd never seen posted anywhere, and these folks are - naturally - in a state of shock.
